Part of the Monacacy Battlefield, the Thomas farm was the sight of a clash between the Confederates and the Union soldiers when the Confederates crossed the Monacacy river and attempted to flank the Union soldiers, who were engaged in battle at Monacacy Junction. There are walking trails and parking, along with nice plaques that depict the battle on the site. The original farmhouse, barn, and some smaller structures are all in place the way they were at the time of the battle. A must-see when passing through Frederick, MD.
