Well. . .up until now, it's been A+ - great tune ups at reasonable prices. Which is why I'm scratching my head. Brought in my kids bike for annual tune up & there was a guy I've never seen before in the repair shop. He had a sign up, back in 5 minutes while he was in the store & "OPEN" sign was lighted up. 15 min. later, he took the sign down & unlocked the door for me. Gee. . .he acted like a carnival caller at the fair or my "trustworthy" car mechanic. Basically, had the estimate up to $120+, and added 3 technical hypotheticals, all at additional cost, which depended on what he found while working on it. On top of fear mongering about my rough & ready kid flying off the handle bars & injuring himself due to a "bald spot" on the tire, and finishing with I'll send you an e-mail with a final quote and you can let me know if you want to junk it. . .yeah, I bet. I took it to a shop in Kensington who quoted me 40 - 80 tops to get bike in great shape, depending on how much I wanted to get done. Again, this is completely out of character for the place. . .so I'm scratching my head about this; however, not planning on going back. Never try to out hustle, a hustler. :-)
