I have lived in Aberdeen going on 2 years now and I have had to contact the PD a number of times. Ultimately in all of the cases, nothing helpful or beneficial came from my call, and nothing was done to make things right. The first time I called was about a theft and vandalism I experienced from my garage. The responding officer brushed it off like it was nothing and basically told me "Good luck but there's nothing we can do". The second time I called was when my motorcycle was vandalized AGAIN. It was locked up this time, so it was just damaged, and again, no sympathy, no leads, no nothing. The third time I called was for late-night construction on my street. The people were jack-hammering concrete at like 4AM and I got fed up. I called them and asked them if they could respond with an officer and tell the workers to quit the noise, but the cop showed up, chatted with them for two seconds and drove off. As you can imagine, the noise continued, and I was late to work because I could not fall asleep and when I did, i was so tired, i missed my alarm. The most recent time I have called them was on W. Bel Air Ave. I got into a rear end collision and the officer responding to the scene was nice and level-headed (I wont name names) but didnt pick up on the fact that the person who hit my car was UNINSURED... He simply took the driver's expired information and exchanged it with me. You would thing this was something they should look for when responding to an accident as bad as mine was, but alas, I was let down yet again. For what its worth, I didnt really expect my tools to be found, or the potential thieves to be found either, but at least a modicum of empathy and maybe an ATTEMPT to track them down would have been nice. Anyways, I dont think its a terrible PD, but theyre definitely not the most helpful when it comes to actually doing
