My girlfriend wanted to get a new iPhone to upgrade from her current phone. We told them she specifically wanted to get the phone that had "portrait" mode and we said we wanted to look at the iPhone 8. The phone on display was dead, but we went ahead anyway to purchase the phone. After walking out of the store we learned that the iPhone 8 did not have this mode.
We were informed of the $45 restocking fee prior to purchase but there was zero customer service in helping her pick the correct phone. Even when we walked back in and she told the sales associate that helped her that the phone didn't have the specific mode, the associate said "yeah, it's only on the X, 8+, and 7+ models" but somehow this was never brought up prior to the purchase, but the associate somehow remembered all of this when we walked back in.
All this shop cares about is upselling the customer on more expensive phones, tv plans (even after telling them you don't want the service, they continue to sell it).
I'm not an AT&T customer but a T-Mobile customer for this exact reason. T-Mobile is worth looking at if you're on the fence, same service and never feel like I'm being upsold and I pay less per month.
