Reason for visit. Needed new full lower and full upper dentures. Chose basic dentures at $399.00 each. Impressions went well. Back next day for try in, in wax. Looked OK after quick look in mirror. Back for dentures. Dentist inserted dentures, ground one spot on bite surface and left cubicle. Tech gave me maintenance kit and I left. Arrived home, took dentures out and examined under magnification and saw many problems. Both dentures were far from being finished. Tool marks, sanding marks, voids not filled and generally poor finish on both dentures. Pink plastic covered entire rear surface of 6 lower front teeth. Spent 3 hours with flexible shaft, abrasives, buffing buffs and compounds fixing the worst of the problems. Both dentures still need work. Center line of top denture is offset 1/8 to 3/16 to right of face center line. Teeth are larger than all previous dentures. Lower denture back teeth do not meet correctly on left side. Only a small portion of the teeth touch the upper teeth on the outside of the bite. Inside of teeth miss by 1/8 inch. I worked in a dental lab way back when, and I can sure tell a good denture from what I got! I will not go back to Aspen!
The office was clean and nice, and most of the people were nice. Unfortunately 3 days after an extraction, I started having intense pain. I still am for that matter. I called the office and was told to keep doing the Motrin and call them if it was worse in the morning. The pain escalated quickly to an unbearable level by that evening so I called the after hours emergency hotline starting at around 9:30pm. They paged the Dentist that did the procedure, but he never responded. They continued to page him for me until 2:30am at which point the answering service told me that the Dentist was not likely to respond. They were not sure why or what was going on. They gave a very sincere apology and recommended that I go to the ER! Looking back, I feel bad for the poor man. He tried all night to get the dentist to call me. The next morning I called another dental practice and they brought me in immediately. This would be today. Turns out I have a dry socket. I would not go to Aspen Dental again if you paid me. I still cannot figure out why I was straight up ignored. How could I possibly risk ever getting something done with them again? What if something happened? Would they ignore me again? It was a horrible experience. One I never intend to repeat.
