Hope to see you soon! ____________________ About Us Amistad United Church of Christ was organized in 1989 and named after the Amistad Event an important part of our UCC denomination’s history. The began with Bible study in homes in Prince George’s county, grew through worship at Kettering Middle School, and found a home at St. Paul UCC in 1998. Amistad believed that church is where the Spirit of God empowers the Human Spirit, Soul, and Body continues in Amistad St. Paul UCC. Its founding organizing principle was to build God's people and God will provide a building. The late Dr. Robert J. Fryson was the founding minister of Music. Rev. Delores “Dee Dee” Delegall was the Founding Associate Pastor and Rev. Dr. R. Joaquin Willis was the founding Pastor. St. Paul United Church of Christ was organized in 1909 as Ardmore Evangelical Union Church. It began in Prince George’s County as a Sunday School mission of the (German) Evangelical denomination. It relocated to Lanham in 1964 and was named St. Paul United Church of Christ. The congregation’s dedication to the Biblical concern for mission and social justice, and the encouragement of both personal and spiritual growth continues in Amistad St. Paul UCC. Amistad St. Paul United Church of Christ was organized in 1999 by the St. Paul and Amistad congregations coming together as “One Spirit, One Soul, and One Body in Christ”. We believe in providing a powerful, effective, relevant, life changing ministry to each other and to the community.
